"Visited for a Sunday Roast with my partner. well the service to start was poor, poured red wine into a white wine glass, lemonade was flat, so choose to have a bottle, still charged considering the glass prior was flat!! a bottle, the staff...owner... said well next week the tax goes down so will be cheaper!!! Great customer service.. Not!!!! The Roast was ok. But not what you would expect for near on presentation very poor... cheese sauce just poured all over the vegetables which were very soft, the parsnips were white like boiled... The pub it self was covered in areas with cob webs, and not nice smells coming from staff, and not at all friendly... And prior to starting our meal complaints from other visitors had already been given to staff, and even a visitor had advised us prior to eating. Well to say the least I wont be visiting this place again, and advise others to be cautious if you wish to eat at this pub... with no happy friendly customer service and near on microwaved heated food... with no presentation. Such a shame.. when this happens but dont want other people having a disappointing visit... and not like it's cheap!!!"

"Took a detour on our way home from holiday.The lady on reception was extremely friendly and helpful giving us a warm welcome. The waiting staff were very polite as well.She told us about a local walk we could do so we could stretch our feet breaking our journey.I had a delicious smoked duck dish which was beautifully presented. My husband had a burger. I am not a burger fan but tried it. Oh my word, it tasted absolutely divine, with a real smoky flavour. I ordered poached pear panna cotta crumble. This tasted light with cinnamon and almond flavours.I would not hesitate to come back here again."

"It was very nice, good food and interesting service. It got a little repetitive after we were asked if we had any allergies 8 times, but I guess they wanted to be sure!!! Service was fine however felt like they were getting a bit impatient with us because we were ordering food late (after seeing a colleague who was popping in for a drink), then when she decided to leave, the waiter blocked their exit to take our table's full food order! So yeah, definitely cosy..."
