"Located on the main drag in Brissago, this family-owned restaurant is nondescript from the outside and therefore easily overlooked. Opened year round (one of the few in Brissago) and frequented by locals, San Marco serves tasty Swiss and Italian fare at very reasonable prices. Cordon Bleu is the house specialty and they do it up as good as any fancy-schmanzy place around the world. Today, thoroughly enjoyed the lunch menu (CHF 14.00) - fresh salad, followed by grilled bratworst and perfectly-prepared risotto. If you're looking for tasty local eats at reasonable prices in touristy Brissago, this is the place."

"We stayed in the Brenscino Hotel for two nights. Because we had our dog with us we were only allowed to take him to the a la carte restaurant. Not a bad thing because the meal was very tasty. The menu is not too big but the quality of the food is excellent. Everybody was happy. We tried the vegetarian cannelloni with spinach and cheese, the picanta milanese and the lamb. The sun was shinning and we could sit outside. The view on the Lago Maggiore is amazing. There is no better place to be in a warm summer night."

"My lovely neighbors treated me to dinner at this local Ticinese grotto - rustic establishment, family owned, in relatively remote area, serving local dishes and wines. You won't find Michelin-starred eats in these places; more like Sunday dinner at grandma's house - homemade, hearty, 'stick to your ribs' kinda stuff. For various reasons, grottos are disappearing from the Ticinese foodie landscape. Enjoying them while we can!"
