"Tonight we had dinner at this fish restaurant in Civitanova Marche. The place is almost at the beginning of the water. It looks very simple and economical, but you immediately notice that the dishes are prepared for the look. The raw appetizers are very good, very fresh and plentiful. The others are a little less good, like those Au-Gratin who are soaked in oil. The first course is good, a spaghettone with Bottarga and scampi. To confirm everything, but don't deserve the fifth star. The price is not popular."

"We were house hunting and ended up in Civitanova Marche around 14.00. We asked our real estate agent where we could find something to eat. At this hour? McDonald 's! . Well...that was not quite what we wanted to hear so we ventured onto the Lungomare, stopped at the first place that seemed open for business (mind you, this is a beach resort and it was February). We saw some guests coming out the door and gave it a try. The waitress was not particularly pleased to see us but, to our fortune, hesitated too long about what to do with us....and here came the owner around the corner (probably her mother): Of course they had a table and of course it wasn 't too late to have lunch! Good for us. The waitress got used to the idea really quickly and turned out to be a very kind, helpful and friendly person. We had starters and mains and were sorry we hadn 't opted for sharing the antipasto of mussels and clams could have fed 2 grown ups easily, as could have the antipasto of octopus and fried potato. The brodetto, an Italian variant of bouillabaisse was so full of fish and molluscs that it too could have served 2 persons. The taste? Real, honest, fresh, frightfully delicious seafood. The wine? Anything you could hope for. And all of that served with a sea view. Worth the detour. Oh yes...don 't order any raw fish like carpaccio or ceviche on a Monday. They don 't have it. And that is because they are honest."
