"Have eaten in Man Friday for 40 years. About 12 months ago I had a series of below par meals and decided to give the place a skip. Went back last week and regretted it. A small sole on the bone cost €41.95!! Tasty but miserable. My wife had a steak that was as tough as old boot. Another member had scampi; said she'd get better in the local chipper. I should vegetables come as extra for another €4.50. Since Philip retired, Man Friday had changed, and not for the better. Adieu, old friend"

"Where do I begin? Food, service, atmosphere, this place has it all. Started out with an amazing vermouth on the rocks. Progressed to a delicious glass of champagne with 1/2 dozen oysters. Grand finale was a small charcuterie board with a glass of biological negroamaro from Puglia. My dining partner loved her mozzarella with sun-dried tomatoes and basil. Great jazz music. Perfect lighting. Professional knowledgeable staff. Must see food destination in Kinsale."

"A fantastic spot for lunch. Hadn’t booked but after a short wait we were seated. Very good service from start to end Food was fabulous, the monkfish scampi was amazing, am told the hake was fabulous too. The only exception of the panacotta which was more of a puddle of cream surround by a really sour fruit Would visit again, as was the designated driver for this day out didn’t get to enjoy the wine list but would enjoy coming back."
