"Arriette's Lounge is run in the Boronia RSL and the restaurant and entertainment is hosted by the same people that run Ariette's Restaurant in the Upwey RSL, where I have been frequently. This was my first visit to the "Lounge". Unfortunately I had booked a table for ten people and on arriving discovered that the booking was missing - it simply was not recorded. In defense of the people running the venue they said they were still ironing out the "bugs", and this is certainly one bug needing ironing out, as I learned later of another couple arriving with confirmation of their booking on paper, and yet it had not been recorded. However, both parties were accommodated, but it did leave me wondering as to what would have happened if we had arrived and the place had been full.As it turned out by the end of the evening it was indeed a full house. The other issue we discovered was that there was no provision to pay by EFPOS or credit card (and it cost us $110 for us as a couple for the show and meal). We were told to go to the bar and we could draw money out. So we went and purchased a decent bottle of Cab/Merlot at $22.00 (very reasonable) but were told, it was a maximum of $50.00 cash out!Facing offers that we could pay at another time through to someone visiting us at home, we held the line that we wanted to pay then and there, and eventually they accepted us drawing $110.00.The message is, check your booking on the evening you are going, and take cash. The tables are simple fold up tables and there is nothing wrong with that, but a table cloth would have been nice.It was a fixed meal, and we were aware of that, but we were unaware that you had no choice, it is the case of alternate seats get alternate meals and then you negotiate. Not to my liking at all. However, I am a vegetarian and I had learned earlier that Risotto was in offer for the non-meat eaters, and I rang earlier in the day and requested something else, as frankly I am all risotto'ed out! To the credit of all concerned, an effort was made and I was offered a nice tuna steak - most acceptable. The menu for the evening was:MAINSChicken breast with a pesto sauce on a rice base with saffron coloured sauce of some descriptionGrilled noisette of lamb with a mint and mustard crust and a housemade jusTuna steak on a rice base with saffron coloured sauce of some descriptionDESSERTPavlova with lashings of fresh cream and berry compoteSalted Caramel with with cream and a caramel sauceThe lamb was cooked beautifully and the jus was delicious and consensus at the table was, that it was a winner. My partner said the chicken was dry and the rice was a stodgy mess and she was unimpressed. The Tuna steak was cooked superbly and was very tasty, although it could have been a little warmer, and i had to agree that the rice base was indeed overcooked,The winner of the desserts was the pavlova. It was very well cooked, firm on the outside and soft on the inside - with beautiful flavour. The salted caramel was a disappointment. It was imply far too dry, almost sucking any moisture out of the mouth. The entertainment was brilliant. The trio of (Lindsay) Field, (Sam) See and (Glyn) Mason were not just brilliant at their musical craft, with sublime harmonies, but really entertained the crowed. By the end of the evening there was a crush of dancers at the front, and that tells the story.Catch these guys as they work extensively around Melbourne. The venue is excellent for live performances, the lighting is great and the sound system is far superior to most live venues, especially at clubs like RSL's.Ariette's Lounge is in its formative stages - and a lot of people are working hard to make it work. It really is a jewell, a diamond in the rough, and with some loving polishing could be one of the best dinner/Live show venues in the South-East of Melbourne."

"Ok, so for me it's more of a 3.5 but that's not an option on here."
