"My crab cake was just okay. It had a sourness to it. Maybe too much lemon mixed in? The risotto wasn't as creamy, as it was sticky. The vegetables were limp and overcooked. I didn't eat them any more than to taste them. The quantity of food was very good. The peanut butter porter was outstanding!! Great little waitress. Very friendly. I liked what the menu offered; American fare, nothing unapproachable. The soups were good. The pimento cheese spread was good and a nice free starter. I'd go back. Although the food wasn't brag worthy, it certainly was good. A decent, friendly, clean, moderately priced restaurant in the Haymarket area. The name threw me off, though. Culinary, to me, meant it would be unique and maybe high end style meals. Underground also, to me, said something unique and maybe even so good I'd want to keep it a secret so the place wouldn't get so crowded and I could always get it. The food was more on a par with Applebees. Still. A decent place downtown."

"We made a reservation at the bar. We arrived and were told that it would not be honored. We were seated in a back “dining” room that appeared to be a room they have for banquets, group events, etc. There were open seats at and around the bar when we arrived and when we left. The ambiance of the back room was lacking. The servers were attentive and working hard. The food was overpriced and mediocre. I can’t remember the last time I had to salt my food in a restaurant. Watch out for the ahi tuna nachos. You get 5 nacho chips for $16! Wine and beer selection were mainstream- not special. All of us diners in this back room looked disappointed, as if we’d been sent to the time out corner. This place is way overrated for the lackluster quality of the food and ambiance. And it is lame that they don’t honor their open table reservations."

"Picked this place for more of a home cooking style. It has fantastic food and our server, Grace, was very nice and polite. Great customer service with the free crackers and cheese as well as rolls and bread before dinner. Mac and cheese burger, meatloaf and chicken tacos are awesome."

"What can I say? Sebastian's table has always been a place I can safely go if I want to cook something interesting and beautiful. I was in love with the 14th street from day one, and I will still sangria, sprouts, and smoked Gouda diving until day either I or they close the doors for the last time. (Extra stars for the inventive and unmistakably real bartenders!"
