"One of the best fine dining restaurants in the metro, Sala has remained a mainstay for almost 10 years.<br>
<br>
They have an excellent selection of wines - 'Toi Toi', an NZ Pinot Noir and ' Otima', a highly rated Tawny Port wine were our choices on this occasion.<br>
<br>
We started with a trio of appetizers. Best was the Seared king scallops with curried puree. Burrata with lavender honey was good too as was the Twice baked prawn and dill souffle which was quite unique.<br>

Our mains included Butter Poached Lobster Tail which was just great. Lamb loin with leeks and parmesan risotto was good. Black Angus Tenderloin seemed to be somewhat overpowered by the Pommery Mustard jus that it came with.<br>

We got a platter of 3 desserts. Dark and white chocolate cylinder with peanut butter ice cream stood out. Raspberry souffle with mascarpone ice cream was excellent. Fennel pollen Panna Cotta was yummy too."

I’ve been eying to visit Mangetsu for quite some time and since some of my friends and I finally found a date where we’re all free, I took it as a reason for us to all go to that Japanese restaurant.<br>

I was a bit scared that we might not have seats given we're meeting on a Saturday so I made sure to reserve a table for 6 the day before. I was expecting a full house but there were still a few tables left vacant when we arrived. <br>

I love that they welcomed me by first name. It made me feel like a regular customer. ????<br>

It took us quite some time to decide on what to order as there were a lot to choose from. I noticed that they even have a menu for cheese dishes! *Calling all cheese lovers!* <br>

"Nice relaxing restaurant along Carlos Palanca. Still on soft opening, their complimentary bread was good although the pate lacked taste, which was saved by their pink Himalayan salt grinder on the table. I don't think I ordered the right stuff so have to go back for their pizza which they make in a brick oven. I actually like the ambience enough to try other items in the menu."

"We went to Smith, hoping to celebrate a great day, after receiving good news. We ordered the porterhouse, and got some sides with it. No dry aged steaks available for some reason.<br>

The porterhouse was okay, but definitely not great. This would rank behind Mamou, and even Wolfgang. The truffle mac and cheese and the potatoes were good, the asparagus slightly okay, the spinach was really bland.<br>

But the service, man, the service, that was something. I should’ve read the reviews here first before wasting my time and money in this place. There were only four tables occupied in the whole restaurant, and at times, we paused to reply to a congratulatory text, or a message on Facebook. And every so often, a waiter would try to swoop in and get our plates, even if we weren’t done yet. A waitress took away my plate, with my fork in it, but I was still working on the mac and cheese, so no biggie, I ate it with the spoon that came with it. But my wife, who still had 2...
