"This is the worst experience I have ever had. I really wish I could get my money back. It was very loud, disorganized and terrible overall. The waiters didn't know which tables belonged to them. The people there were incredibly loud, enough to visibly disturb everyone else, and nobody did anything about it. The food was badly seasoned and cooked. The portions were tiny. Never come here, never. It is a terrible hotel restaurant."

"This was our second visit and we brought our friends. We all raved about the food and overall experience. Our starters, entrees and the one dessert we could fit were all creatively conceived, beautifully executed and thoughtfully served. We savored every bite. I wouldn 't change one thing. The delicious popover basket was a wonderful, unexpected extra. Even the non bread eaters made an exception! Perhaps it is not the case for everyone, but our table near the door separated us from all but one other table, and we could comfortably hear one another. The crowning touch on a perfect evening! Oh...one last pleasantry easily finding street parking as opposed to the experience of downtown Montclair. We would have been back sooner, but it 's hard to get a prime time reservation. Clearly the word is out."

"In our several years of dining at Bistro 18, we have always had an excellent experience. The food is really New York City quality, at New Jersey prices. It 's a BYO, and you can even have your choice of bottle delivered from the local liquor store, at no extra charge. The service is always very gracious. Although everything we have personally enjoyed at the restaurant has been wonderfully prepared (and presented! , standouts include the risotto, the steak with red wine sauce, and the sesame-crusted salmon. The gazpacho--which was a special the last time we visited--was the best I have ever tasted."
