"After sampling most of the restaurants in Puerto Vallarta over 15 days there, Kaiser Maximillian was the only one we revisited several times. The Austrian/German food was better then anywhere we 've found in the States. The owner, you will spot him instantly, an old Germanic...man, oversees every aspect of his restaurant and its servers. examining the silverware, glassware, and each meal insuring it is presented well and the servers jump when he sees anything amiss. One bit of advice if you sit in the sidewalk cafe you may be bothered by the street children selling whatever and scooting away when The Kaiser appears! We usually sat inside."

"I went in on a Friday afternoon around 2pm was sat immediately. I ordered local mineral water the bubbles were light very refreshing. Next I ordered Passion Margarita came quickly what I did not know was 2 for 1 yippee my next margarita was watermelon. Included with my meal was fresh chips and house special of bubbling cheese and beans, with 6 house made salsas 3 in varying degrees of spice and 3 savory. My main was a Beef Carpaccio it was amazing best I ever had topped with artichoke fritters and caper powder. Drinks were very balanced. Service was amazing."

"The chefs know what they're doing! I started off with the beet salad which had a perfect texture with the honey, goat cheese, arugula and crumbs. The fish fillet was amazing. It was perfectly grilled and almost tasted like it had some kind of homemade zesty barbeque sauce on it. I would definitely have it many times over. My girlfriend had the fajitas de res. She loved it. I had a taste and the beef was tender, good cuts, salty but not too salty. Well done!"

"Terrible service and only 1 server. There were several tables. We came in and no one sat or addressed/ welcomed us. No smile, no Hellos. We asked the bartender if we sat down, he said yes. After 20 minutes no one waited to get an order. On the far side of the restaurant is a grill, so we thought we should go to the grill itself and order - but the man Grill said no, someone should take our order. We flew the 1 man down, and I said we're here near 30 minutes, you can take our order. Finally he came by and we ordered 3 burgers with frits. But of course, to get drinks, water-anything was always a 20-minute procedure! It's hard to enjoy your food when you have to get up constantly, or your children get up and find the waiter!! Bartender was just rude. Here's the sad part... the burgers were AMAZING! But for the bad SLOW service and IGNORED, I will not return!! I have many American dollars and will spend them elsewhere - maybe in Callejon over the street!!! I was in Westin from 4-19 thru 4-23. All reception and administration as well as the Cascada staff must be retrained in the manner of customer service! A. Texeira"
