"Since I arrived to Mexico City, I always wanted to go and try this. The restaurant from the outside it’s a typical English building and it reminds me a lot of my dear Old Continent (I’m Italian and when I was living in Milan, I used to go a lot to London). I couldn’t know that once you get inside you get a view of an amazing garden where you can sit on a bench and have a break from the chaotic Mexico City. Inside, this building is simply beautiful, you step in and it seems that you go straight from Mexico to a classical UK house. The staff is a super nice and they were super fast to find a table for me and my husband and we were served right away from one of the highest well mannered staff I’ve seen in Mexico. It’s a family business, it’s being managed and owned by the same family since almost 50 years and they are lovely. Their full dedication to the Sir Winston Churchill is easy to see. The food was really good, and well presented. They count with valet parking so feel free to come by with your car. The place is walking distance from Polanco’s main avenue Masaryk, so give it a chance and you won’t regret it. Lot to Instagram as well!"

"We had one of the lunch specials grilled cheese with rib meat (they had taken the rib off the menu for some time) and the tacos de rib eye. We had great food and excellent service. Like their breakfasts as well as their coffee."

"(The Lake of the Swans) works on the concept that traditional Mexican favorites are great but the usual haunts where they are served lack overall sanitation and professional servers. This chain of restaurants, open for breakfast at eight and still open after midnight, fixes all...that. And they pay off the police to assure full security for customers and hire a guard for cars parked nearby. We chose the one in a shopping area of Lomas de Chapultepec, on Prado Norte. Three of us went for supper. We drank tamarindo, horchata and te’ Jamaica, and ate tacos al pastor, pork meat cut from a giro set-up, with a slice of fresh pineapple atop each small mound of meat on a tortilla. From the table we spooned on extra flavor from the typical array of freshly prepared salsas and condiments. A good hot soup of chicken and vegetables warmed us on a chilly night. We shared an order of nopales, cactus pads, cut small and flavored with pickled onions, chopped tomato, lemon, salt and topped with grated white cheese. Servers were skilled and amiable, setting lacked charm but oozed modernity, food was wonderful."
