"Strolling along the streets of Avignon old town the traveler is faced with a multitude of choices when it comes to food. We already had had some French food during our trip, so we decided to be "adventurous" and eat something different - and this is when we came across La Couscousserie de L'Horloge. The menu includes some vegetarian options but also dishes with chicken and lamb. I had initially decided to go with a chicken tagine, but our waiter recommended the lamb tagine - and right he was. The prunes, apricots and oranges mingled nicely with the flavors of cinnamon and cumin, The portions were good sized. The wine recommended - a Moroccan rose - was OK and worked well with our meal, but was nothing special.Service was friendly and professional, and as we were very early for dinner, we were the only customers when we arrived. As a result, we were served very promptly. Definitely an adventure worth repeating."

"There are several small restaurants along the quaint and shaded Rue Teinturiers offering a refreshing respite from a hot Avignon. Tables are set up next to a small creek . We selected this restaurant because the lunch board had the most potential for salads. Were we...happy! Our large salads were at least equal to anything we have had elsewhere: greens, marinated chicken, roasted potato, grilled eggplant, marinated shredded carrots, and to top it off, a beet sorbet. The rolls were equally exquisite. We chatted with owner/ chef; the restaurant is a family business and the SHUS is an acronym of the first letter of family member names. The setting for the restaurants in this outdoor part of town is much superior to the tourist schlock one finds on the main plaza."

"We discovered this place on the advice of a friend after a change of direction and we are absolutely not disappointed. We were welcomed by a newly formed, young dynamic, smiling team. They didn't give us the map but also had to advise us to better guide our taste buds, both on the dishes and on what could best accompany them. We were even allowed to build a cocktail. From aperitif to dessert, The essential to delight my senses. Ps: the real pleasure of feeling the attention of the servers to the chief himself on the smooth running of this moment.
