"I've moved in to taste the food. first Friday after covid lockdown version. they immediately said they were in the position. to be honest, there were only two of us and the whole middle series of tables were empty. it would have been good to sit on the back. somehow we went and went to taj agra, who saved the day to dinner in relation to the denial of another business. We will certainly return here. first impressions and all."

"Taj Agra is one of our favourite Indian restaurants so dine here regularly. Unfortunately last night was very disappointing as the entrees and mains were a little on the oily side. The onion bhaji's were not as crisp as they should have been and when you pressed on them with a fork you could see the amount of oil on the surface.Similarly the oil had separated from the sauce on the mains of beef vindaloo and chicken korma. The vegetable biriyani was a little stodgy as the rice had clumped together.Always friendly attentive service and lovely décor but the chef was a little too liberal with the oil on this occasion."

"Recently attended after the restaurant changed hands and names. It was a Friday night and although they had a few takeaways the restaurant was very quiet. Perhaps the word hasn't got around yet. I thought the food was lovely. The service good and the price is around average. We had pappadums with a tantalising mint sauce to start along with an Asian infused Indian cauliflower dish which was very different but tasty. For the mains we had a Goat curry and a chicken Vindaloo with Roti bread, Raita and saffron rice.The Vindaloo was excellent very delicious with a real good hit of heat as a Vindaloo should be but not overpowering. The roti bread was thin and crisp and the raita tangy and nice as well as the rice. The curry sauce that the goat was in had a subtle flavour and was very nice. Unfortunately the actual goat tasted more like mutton and was quite fatty in parts.The service was good although the only other negative I have is that after our mains were served we were asked if we wanted rice which we had already previously ordered and should have come straight out with our mains. Overall I would certainly recommend this if your palate feels like good Indian food."

"Consistently excellent Indian cuisine over many years. Palak paneer and chicken tikka masala are all-time favourites. Friendly staff. Fabulous service. Time between ordering take away and pick up tends to be quite fast even during busy times. A reliable local gem."
