"After a few weeks in Japan, I was dying for a good curry. And the ‘burbs’ can pull it off with a traditional Thai meal that satiated my yearning. We came for a celebration on a Friday night with no booking and the lovely staff managed to get us a table for 5. Sontaya is located at the top of the shopping centre in Eltham and with full patronage on the night, it has a popular following. <br/>We ordered an array of dishes such as roti, satay skewers, chicken and cashew curry, coconut rice and more. The portion sizes were good and the rice was perfectly light and fluffy. <br/>The staff were helpful and patient as we ordered plenty of food. The restaurant is BYO but you can also order wine as well. <br/>Note: Wheelchair accessible. Kid friendly. Good parking nearby. Takes credit cards. Take away menu available."

"Tom Yum tofu soup was tasty, and spoiled only be a large piece of zucchini in it! Generous portions and good servers. Soda water was the real deal from Thailand - Singh soda. Ambiance tricky in such a large place but there were touches of Thailand here and there. Friends had dishes big enough that they had to take them home. Even though it's out of the way, I wouldn't mind returning."
