"Would rate 0 stars if I could. Went for a meal on the 17th June 2023 whilst camping across the road with friends. Booked a table for 6pm. We were seated fairly quickly and ordered drinks and food by 6.10. We then waited until at least 7.20 for food to arrive, it only arrived after we asked how long it would be. If such a wait was anticipated this should have been communicated to us when ordering. We ordered loaded fries with cheese, another with cheese and bacon, another with cheese and chilli and a chicken burger and chips. The food was not unpleasant, however, the chilli loaded fries gave one of the party food poisoning. This meant packing up camping in the middle of the night to get home and completely ruined our last night of our break away. I am completely disappointed in this and would recommend that the restaurant seriously looks into the hygiene and/or storage management of food."

"Booked this pub due its proximity to Biddulph Grange gardens and what a find! Although not busy at the 3:00pm time booked, they had thought about where to put us due to the hot day and chose the coolest part of the pub. The food was excellent, the four of us having three different dishes and they were all great. Home cooked and good sized portions, including the apple sponge pud. Reasonably priced, and served with a smile, I would definitely recommend!"

"Arrived and a very nice gentleman showed my friend and I to table 44 no problem all was going well when a customer arrived with a dog she looked at our table and said we booked that table I wanted it because I brought my dog she then went on to keep saying loudly that she wasn't happy and she was going to complain she made us feel very uncomfortable..when our food arrived we mentioned it to the lady but there was nothing else she could do...any way about the food it was excellent we had pizza.the staff were very good especially the man that greeted us and took us to our table...the greyhound you should be proud of all staff..didn't give full marks due to a very rude lady making our us feel uncomfortable.."

"We've just enjoyed a family lunch time visit. Its the first time we've eaten out since March due to Covid. We felt safe and the staff were very mindful of all the rules regulations as well as being friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. Delicious fresh produce of an excellent quality. We would highly recommended the Travelers Rest. Thank you and well be back again very soon."
