"Geneva's town centre restaurants and takeaway eateries open for lunch are notoriously expensive. If you want good quality italian food with that "home feel", then look no further. La Cantinella has a good variety of traditional italian dishes available for either takeaway or eat-in. Claudio the manager will make you feel at home and the staff is always smiling and very responsive. Waiting times are reduced to a few minutes at worse but you usually get served on the spot. The Lasagna and funghi crespelle are a must. There is at least 10-12 types of delicious focaccia sandwiches on offer as well as salads in they sandwich bar. Ask for toasted focaccia to go with it and finish off with their homemade tiramisu. The food is prepared by the same chef as the restaurant Citadella (also in the old town). A great alternative to Globus and less expensive too. You will also find a huge selection of groceries, wine and parma hams that you will find nowhere else in Geneva. There is simply no better on the spot italian food supplier in Geneva. The setting is also unique and cosy. Perfect for solo lunches, work lunches, romantic lunches and even family (of 6 max). Please note that the seating is limited so best is to arrive before 12.15 (ideally 12pm)."

"Je viens de commander une pizza aux fruits de mer à l'emporter et lorsque je l'ai ouverte à la maison j'ai été déçu de l'allure de la pizza qui franchement devait être de la taille d'une assiette standard (pour 24.- c'est quand même des rapaces)... quand aux ingrédients c'était que du surgelé et rien n'avait de gout, vraiment rien. Tout ça pour 24.- ? je n'y retournerait plus ça c'est sur ou du moins pas pour une pizza."

"On a business lunch invitation, I went to this restaurant to join three other colleagues. The restaurant looked ordinary from the outside, but inside it was cozy though small - so one really needs a reservation (we had one) - in fact, a few people had to be turned away by 12:30 pm. Lunch was a choice among four very interesting dishes, which the efficient and very friendly server described on our request. All four of us chose the same dish - marinated tuna sliced in small tranches, delicately placed on top of delicious rocket salad and served with nice french fries - it was very good! This is a really nice lunch place (I was told it only serves lunch - I am not sure) - friendly, excellent service, a nice homey feeling and Italian dishes with a modern touch. It is very close to the Butini tram stop along route de Lausanne, and 3 minutes walk down the road to Palais WIlson - so it is quite convenient to those attending UN meetings in Wilson."

"I heard a lot about this place so decided to try. After trying many restaurants in Geneva I can say that so far this was my worst experience in terms of service by far... We have waited for more than one hour until we received our starters, the waiters were rude and arrogant and when i mentioned i had a Buyclub coupon the reaction i got was at least bad. To be fair the food was not bad but also nothing extraordinary. Thus overall i would not recommend the place as you can find the same or better food in numerous restaurants around Geneva but with MUCH better service. It is also reassuring to see that other reviewers have had a very similar bad experience..."
