"The food is good although portions are not the biggest for the price. staff are pretty hard working and polite. At the time of my visit during the Covid crisis, a limited range of meals was available and these had to be ordered 30 minutes prior to eating. A businessman travelling alone, the dingy lighting made it impossible to read whilst in the restaurant. I appreciate that Covid has made things difficult, but I'd really like enough light to see what I'm eating and read my book!"

"Considering the night was very busy I've got too say that was a fantastic night. Brilliant service and great atmosphere. My servers Kylie,Sadie and Stacey were so helpful and giving me the best service possible. I came in with my family and they would happily come again into this establishment again. "Visited the Fitzwilliam Arms for an evening family meal. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff who were attentive throughout our visit. The beer garden is very spacious, well kept and over looks fields where sheep graze which I found rather charming and lovely for younger children. We ate our meal inside which again was spacious, tastefully decorated furnished. A very pleasant dining area. We didn't have a long wait from ordering our food or in between courses, and plates were cleared in a good timeframe. The food was exceptional. I ordered calamari to start, pork for main (which was devine) and crème brûlée for pudding. All 3 courses were of a very high standard and I would recommend trying any of them. This pub really does tick all the boxes for me and we'll definitely be visiting again. A very pleasant dining experience. Lovely pub. Great staff wonderful food."

"Visited the cherry house on Sunday and was really looking forward to it. The starter was ok melon balls with Parma ham. I chose rib of beef which was chewy I had a selection of vegetables which in my opinion didn't seem to have been seasoned. The sherry trifle was ok but didn't have fresh cream just synthetic cream.very surprised as I I was expecting a very high standard here"

"Absolutely beautiful eating and great country pub atmosphere, welcoming and courteous staff and decent eating in the future, as they were fully booked! it would have been a bit tight to be in the position, out and through the bar/toilets (two long tables immediately left of the bar restaurant). all wonderful!"

"We have been in town for four months and trying diff places every other week. We ate twice at the Italian place down the street, and went back for third but greeting always rubbed me the wrong way so actually turned around and went to Ship Inn. This week we tried Dexter's and it hit the nail on head, the staff is positive, professional, and all around great. We ordered the Greek app plate and 4 tapas plates with wine. Wife said it was the best dinner since we arrived. Good on all fronts. We found out main stay for dinner."
