"To stay overnight in the University District and wanted a nice dinner, but it was late at Veterans Day and many places were closed so I somehow stumbled here since I always had a fan of Indian food. The menu really has everything, but I wanted to get some relative light and the waiter gave me some really helpful suggestions. I went with the Samosa Chat and a Salty Lassi. Everything was perfect and super tasteful. The Samosa chat was an explosion of textures and sweet and hearty curry. The Lassi was also loaded with spices and was very rich. Definitely the best Lassi I tried! The prices are completely fair. The dining area was clean, but the bathroom was, for lack of a better word, moist. The kitchen is in the same dark back hall that lets me ask if it is in the same state as the dining room of the bathroom. Nothing appeared about my food, but so can I hope? It was time to close when I was ready for dinner, and the cook was out to help clean up another party and I had the chance to talk to him a little. Like the waiter, he's a really nice guy and takes care of the food. The presentation of the food is very nice, but the atmosphere is really casual and unpretentious, and it quickly came out that made this the perfect place for me, and I would definitely recommend it for a high quality meal."

"I really wanted to like this place. I was craving Indochinese and decided to give this place a shot rather than go to the Eastside. I ordered Vegetable Hakka noodles and Paneer 65. Positive: portions are generous, order was ready when I arrived to pick up, quick (parking is not easy around this area), friendly service. Not so positive too oily, paneer was really hard."

"I’ve dined in and taken out a couple times. Their food is overall good. I will definitely go again. If you get takeout, they do skimp a bit. Most recently, my Butter Chicken had maybe 5 bites of chicken in the whole container, which is not worth $17. Whereas, in person we had plenty of food for dinner and leftovers. Included a photo of one of our takeout containers for reference (it is tikka masala)."

"We often order from here. Food is great and the service is always warm and inviting. I have to eat gluten free and they are very helpful! Many Indian dishes are naturally gluten free, so the options are plentiful."

"Lebanese vegan food can be incredibly good Flowers is a restaurant that I look forward to visiting. . I spotted this article posted on the site of The Daily http thedaily.washington.edu/2008/5/15/flower-all-you-can-eat-vegetarian-buffet/ decided to share it . Excerpt . Flowers All-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet . A college student's diet, although abundant in pizza and teriyaki, doesn't generally include many vegetables. Luckily this problem can be easily remedied at Flowers Bar Restaurant, where they offer an all-you-can-eat vegetarian buffet from 11 a.m. 4 p.m. daily. . Flowers has been at its location at the corner of Northeast 42nd Street and University Way Northeast or 17 years now ,and the employees have watched Seattle's vegetarian community expand greatly during this time. . Owner Fadi Hamade estimates that more than half of his customers are vegetarian or vegan; he cited the prevalence of vegetarians in the area as a major benefit to his business. . It helps tremendously being in Seattle Hamade said. That's what I love about this place; it's always in the lead, whether it's the environment, recycling or being vegetarian . Hamade was born in Lebanon and grew up in New York City, where his mother raised him on a vegetarian diet. . My mom was a vegetarian and the restaurant is greatly inspired by her cooking he said. . The Lebanese influence is evident in the food served at Flowers' lunch buffet, as it features a variety of flavorfully seasoned veggie stews and salads. The smorgasbord of options includes fried cauliflower in house-made tahini sauce, flaky falafel balls, pita bread with hummus, a variety of savory vegetarian soups and chilis and as a delicious yellow curry penne pasta. . Junior psychology major David Fagerholm cited a healthy salad consisting of tofu, garbanzo beans, eggplants and onions as his favorite dish. It was Fagerholm's first visit to Flowers and he said he would likely return. . I was looking for something different to try and needed to get more vegetables Fagerholm said. . This was a sentiment shared by fellow customer and freshman Junbe Kye, who regularly visits Flowers for the lunch buffet. . I love the food and with all the vegetables it seems really healthy he said."
