"This review is mostly based on previous experiences that I had with Hafis over a few years in Berlin and not the very recent one. We have been frequenting this place for the past 8 9 years, whenever we had the chance to go...to Berlin and that is roughly once a year and had always been stunned by the very high quality of the restaurant in terms of Persian Kababs. The last time that I visited the place (Sep. 2015), it had moved to a new location which was not as cozy as the previous one. The food was still OK. Kabab Koobideh seemed fine although I did not try it this last time. Appetizers (different Iranian style yoghourt mixes) were of very high quality, vegetables and Cheese were fresh and doogh (Iranian style yoghourt based drink) was still absolutely to die for. I had Ghormeh Sabzi stew with rice for the main course which was very average, a bit disappointing, not very bad, but not even near to what it should be! The portion of the Baghali Polo with lamb shank was very generous and the quality was OK too. The worst thing about the last visit though was the very very slow service which was more than annoying, but well, knowing the place for quite long time, I am going to give it benefit of the doubt and assume that they were having an exceptional slow day, or at least I hope so!"
