"I was a bit nervous about taking my South African guest here to experience some typical Bavarian food, as there have negative as well as positive reviews. However, it had been a strenuous day and we felt like eating locally. My fears were absolutely unfounded....The Hax'nhaus is located at the top of the pedestrian Zone down to the Greenich Promenade in AltTegel, very conveniently close to the UBahn. We were seated in their very pleasant outside area on a wonderfully warm Berlin evening. The menu is smallish, but all the essential Bavarian and even Berliner dishes are available. The service was friendly and accommodating, absolutely no complaints. We were permitted to swop the side dishes with our roasted, pickled pork knuckle Schinkenhax'n, I had home fries Bratkartoffel and my friend had potato dumplings instead of bread dumplings, both really good. The crackling on the Haxe was lovely and crisp, the meat tasty and tender. The cabbage Bayrischkraut was wonderful, and the potatoes and gravy were good. No complaints about the Köstritzer and Augustiner beer. The pear schnapps which had a chunk of sightly crunchy, marinaded pear was delicious and just the thing after all that rich pork. All in all, a very pleasant evening of typical Bavarian food out in the suburbs. I can recommend this restaurant, particularly if you don't fancy travelling into town and fighting the crowds"

"Celebrated my birthday, lunch, nice lunch card, the food was excellent, the steaks cooked to the point Even the dessert and the beer was really good! However, not quite cheap that should be aware. But for a nice occasion it is worth in all cases! You'll be happy again and then in the evening when the meat selection is bigger and comes from the flame."

"I love the local food. Everything we had was excellent. The place has great atmosphere with live music and local people. Services is also great. They moved us to a better table when it became available and brought us everything we asked. Highly recommended if you're looking for an authentic place with good food"

"Mehrmals war ich schon im Aquamarin.Großer Raum mit etwas kühler Atmosphäre. Im Sommer sind in der Ferne Volleyballspieler und Schwimmbadbesucher zu sehen. Kellner sind je nachdem auf wen ich traf mal nett mal etwas barsch gewesen. Mit dem Essen hatte ich schon mal Glück aber auch schon mal Pech. Ich weiß daher nicht genau, ob ich noch einmal dort hin gehen werde. Vielleicht mal auf ein Glas Rotwein."
