"When it comes to ethnic food, it is hard for an American to actually know what authentic food is from different countries, unless one was born in a foreign country or has lived abroad long enough to experience certain cultures. I have eaten in many different Greek restaurants in the USA, including Astoria, NY and Tarpon Springs, FL (these 2 cities contain the largest Greek) population the USA) and I must admit that, according to my taste, the Greek island Taverna wins hand-down. And that must be the reason why it has a long waiting list for lunch or dinner."

"The experience was great! My party was immediately seated. The ambiance was nice! The fillet snapper meals portion was very small for $32 but overall it was ok. Drinks were great!"

"Wonderful food and great waiters. All the appetizers were delicious and everybody we were 7), loved their main courses. The waitress recommend a very nice greek red wine, St. George, which went very well with our food. We will be back again."

"Thasos was recommended to me and I was very excited to visit as I love Greece and greek food. The atmosphere at the restaurant is wonderful, beautiful setting, not loud music, very clean and beautiful. Now food and service wias another thing… prices definitely don’t justify the quality of food. Only one good thing was saganaki; octopus was mushy and asparagus with sea bass … will not even talk about it. Sea bass itself was ok, but not worth $50+…Server made it really unpleasant.. I wish we had Stanley, as he was recommended also. Unfortunately he had a day off. Our server was very arrogant, not responsive and quite rude. I wish I would know his name, he wore black glasses. (Maybe this would help not to have him) I was taking a break of eating appetizers and utensils were set to show that I’m not done, he just grabbed my plate without asking if I’m done… when asked to bring me a plate, the face he showed it made me feel very very uncomfortable…I typically never write bad reviews and I feel bad on doing it, but if I pay $250 for dinner, that and service should justify an overall experience."
