"This restaurant, allied to one that has been open for a number of years in Sierre, has just opened in a building that has just been extensively renovated. The main dining room is in a brand new addition. We went on a Friday night and...the place was almost full. It is a little unfair to review a restaurant after it has just opened and before it has been able to shake down. However, having said that, our meal was frankly disappointing. Rather than choose à la carte or one of the fixed menus listed in a very nicely produced menu book, we asked the owner to propose what he did best. He suggested three dishes and some plain rice. The prawn beignet was badly undercooked with the batter neither crispy nor done, the sesame seed encrusted fish was bland and had a poor texture, the Sichuan porc, (listed as spicy) was not and was also bland. Service, with the exception of a charming young Korean man who studied at the hotel school in Crans, was on a par with the cooking. The wine list has an interesting selection of wines from the Valais with some well known small producers featured. We had a very pleasant rosé from Maurice Zufferey whose winery is just outside Sierre, down in the valley. It would be nice if this could turn out to be a winner but on present showing, unlikely"

"The Hotel Le Trift was place we stayed while hiking a detoured version of the walkers Haute Route. Nestled in the little village of Zinal, this wonderfully hip hotel/ restaurant is run by a lovely couple! That's what gave this place it's defining personality! You couldn't help but feel welcome! The rooms were clean, tidy, and decorated with knotty pine decor. The bedding snd extra large towels were a . The rooms had their own sink and mirror but no toilet. That was the only drawback for me. We had one shower/bathroom per floor. Other than that, it was a delightful place to stay. Typical breakfast of bread, homemade yummy jams, cereal , etc... Homemade croissants each morning ! . The pizza is also very good and worth ordering ! If you have a chance, take the hike to the hotel Weisshorn! We would definitely stay here again!!!"

"Le 1er septembre de l'année dernière (si mes souvenirs sont exacts !), mon épouse et moi avons mangé au restaurant du Val-des-Dix. Nous avons eu l’audace de redemander quelques pommes frites, vu que la ration n’était pas des plus généreuses. Quelle ne fut pas notre surprise lorsque, sur une addition d’une centaine de francs, nous avons constaté la facturation d’une portion supplémentaire complète de frites ! Interpellant le garçon sur un tel procédé jamais rencontré auparavant, celui-ci nous a dit qu’il s’agissait d’un ordre du patron ! Si c’est bien le cas, il s’agit d’une honte dans la restauration de ce beau pays, et je ne manquerai pas d’en alerter la presse populaire et spécialisée. Il y a d’autres façons moins désagréables d’attirer les touristes en Valais, et plus spécialement dans le Val-des-Dix !"

"We had here twice in January this year and twice a year before, with children and also as couple. It is a beautiful restaurant with a traditional look and feel (loats made of wood). The menu is varied and has appetizers such as salads, soup etc. The mains vary from pizzas, hamburgers (but quite gastronomic), tartaric acid, vegetarians and fish. They also have very good meat and cheese fondues. The deserts are mainly ice or crème brûlée. They also offer a children's menu consisting of pasta, pizza or nuggets. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. It is strongly recommended to reserve during the season. I enjoy this place in view of the perfect fit with the surroundings (the food is suitable for the beautiful ski area), the relaxing atmosphere, but the good quality of food and its variety, as you are both good for a pizza and more fine food."

"Accueil froid, longue attente. La serveuse n'a pas pensé à proposer une salade à la personne à qui son plat n'en comprenait pas. A la table d'à côté, le pauvre gosse n'a pas pu manger en même temps que ses parents, sa pizza étant arrivée 20min avant les plats. La daurade servie à table a été massacrée devant nos yeux. Et le poisson était trop cuit! La jardinière de légumes congelée pour accompagner le tout cela a été le summum. Bref vivement déconseillé!"
