"My partner, sister-in-law and niece went for lunch. The patio had room and the environment looked nice.Unfortunately, the service was slow and the food disappointing. The waitress was cleaning tables before taking our order (nobody was waiting for tables) and forgot to bring one of us a fork.We ordered the potato bites and buffalo cauliflower bites because they seemed like good vegan\veg options. When our food arrived the cauliflower bites were covered In blue cheese and the potato bites had a creamy dressing on the plate and were filled with cheese and bacon! (The menu did NOT say anything about cheese or bacon! And did not say the cauliflower would be covered in blue cheese. "Comes with" usually means as a dip or side, doesn't it?).The waitress blamed us for not asking! After my vegetarian partner ate a bite with bacon! Sorry, but what reason would a person have for needing to ask what potato bites are? We had to ask to have one of the two potato bite orders taken off our bill since we didnt eat them. We felt like we were a nuisance for their lack of accountability.Still can't believe that she challenged me on how the potato bites were stated on the menu and then said that it was our fault for not asking what potato bites are."

"We had noticed this restaurant on previous visits to Bayfield, but did not have a chance to try the food.Last week we went in and had a very effusive greeting from Katherine.The selection of drinks, which included a caipirinha., brought back memories of my visit to Brazil.The food was excellent, fresh and well presented..The tom yum soup was outstanding.The restaurant is an excellent addition to Bayfield and offers a completely different dining experience.Personally not too keen on the spotted cow sushi"

"We went there for lunch, got a table on the patio,then waited over an hour for our food.Our order was soup of the day, quiche of the day, which should have been already Prepared. Maybe they were...other people arrived, had their lunch and departed while we still waited.We decided to leave but paid for our drinks. On the way out we spoke to Carlos, theowner. He was not apologizing which he should have been. Do not go there if you expect good service or food!"

"So I had a few trepidations; this dining room being part of a motel. I was proved wrong minutes after entering.My server, Tim, was outstanding. He made my cocktail to order, had quick repartee and friendly banter and was timely checking on me.The kitchen has impeccable timing; not too slow and not hurried, perfect.Fresh and plump PEI oysters were served on a bed of chilled beach pebbles but no mignonette and the horseradish was from a jar. The venison medallion was one of the best I have ever had. Cooked perfectly rare and served with grilled veg and a lovely, not too sweet, reduction. The wine list is currently being updated but I had a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon on chef's recommendation. The dessert was fabulous and very similar to one I had at the Little Inn in Bayfield recently so I'm guessing the pastry chef is one and the same. A chocolate ganache curl atop a chocolate cake which, as I told Tim; was smooth and rich like my second husband to which he quickly, without losing a beat, replied "better than dry & bitter like my first wife". Rim shot please.I assume there is live music Friday & Saturday as there is a staged area. Tables along the comfortable banquette (cushions supplied) and higher tables along the wall or perhaps you'd prefer to dine al fresco. Whether you are staying at the inn, across the road at the rental cottages or just passing through; stop, relax and enjoy."

"The black dog is a good place for a local meal. service is friendly and professional. eating is well presented. we liked the beet salad and the Caesar salad as appetizers and the smoked pork chop maple glaze, the best sweet risotto, pickled red. müll was a hit."
