"Had dinner here on a recent Saturday night and really enjoyed it. We weren't able to get a reservation, but we went to the restaurant early in the evening and were able to slide in. They do have outdoor seating, however it closes at 4pm. I had their Flat Iron Steak and it did not disappoint. I really enjoyed the peppercorn crust. Despite the warning it was spicy, I didn't find it to be that bad, though I do like pepper. I recommend skipping the Peppercorn Cognac Cream Sauce it comes with and asking for some of the Peppercorn Mushroom-Cognac Sauce. I tried both and in my opinion the Mushroom-Cognac sauce was a better accompaniment."

"My husband and I made a reservation through Open Table. We were seated and ignored for the first 15 minutes. The hostess returned and offered to get us drinks because our waiter, who we never saw, was busy. The hostess brought us water and our waiter finally appeared with our wine. He said he would be right back . We saw him go to the group behind us five times. We saw him across the room twice. After being there for 35 minutes, without our waiter taking any order, we asked the hostess for the manager who was expediting in front of the kitchen. To his credit, the manager offered us another waiter and offered to comp our wine. By that time we were so annoyed, we left. My husband and I have both worked in the restaurant business. We know bad service when we see it. Happily, Peppercorn Grille is right across the street. We had two great meals there. Sadly, they are not on Open Table but are on Yelp."

"We tried this place tonight after going to a previous choice and not wishing to wait an hour to get seated. We walked in and checked to see how long the wait was and were fortunate enough to be seated right away. The place was full of people who seem to be happy eating and we read the menu looking over all of the delicious choices they have. The hamburger selection is amazing and the burgers are very large and very tasty. We got the brisket with the cheesy bread and sides of veggies and coleslaw and that was amazing. Our friends had the potato salad and said it was the best they've ever had and they don't throw compliments like that around easily. Our waitress was Misty and we cannot say enough wonderful things about her and the attention she gave to our table and our order. Misty was very pleasant and charismatic which was a nice way to finish off an epic day in Big Bear lake. Our friends and us have decided that this will be our go to place every time we are in that area."

"Ate dinner here with a big family and EVERYONE was happy. When you achieve that you get 5 stars from me. As a traveler to California one thing I’ve noted is the freshness and quality of salads and vegetables, pretty much everywhere we’ve eaten. This place was no different. The pot roast (served until it’s gone) was fantastic and the cornbread was perfect. It’s one of those places that’s so good you want to go back for another meal just to try something else."
