"Across the courtyard from the Burg is the restaurant with the option of dining on the Terrace or in a room that brings you back to the Middle Ages. We opted for the terrace which overlooks the valley, vineyards and town. A marvelous and romantic...venue. Karl Kollman is the chef, while Jasmin Kollman oversees the dining Room. Both pay close attention to what happens in every aspect, being there from early morning to restaurant close, ensuring perfection, which ensures that customers enjoy spectacular meals at every level. The kitchen staff was seen gathering herbs in the morning from the garden for the day's meal. This bespoke guaranteed freshness for the culinary delights ahead at the restaurant. The terrace setting as mentioned was spectacular, complementing the supberb food. The dinner menu favors Styrian dishes, with Styrian wine favored, and rightly so also of note is a good selection of wine from other regions of Austria. All compliment the food selection seamlessly. The service completes the meal . It was truly special, about the best experienced in Austria. The servers were cheerful, friendly, and very knowledgeable about what was being served, its preparation, and the local wines that would be the best choice for our meals. Better ambience could not have been asked for or received. It is easy to see why the chef/ cuisine/restaurant has been bestowed the honors that it has received and will continue to receive. I will come back here again, and I urge you to come both here and to the Burg itself."
