"Restaurante Italiano (de Andrea , Carretara San Miguel de Allende a Dolores Hidalgo km 7.4, San Miguel de Allende, Gto., tel. 415-120-3481. The purpose-built restaurant is pleasant although there isn’t art on the wall yet. The view of the campo is lovely. The service was excellent...and our meal was very good. We had pasta with basil and tomato that was very good and cordero that was very good too. We spent M$390 plus M$60 tip. We would recommend this restaurant. We went again on a Sunday night and had a fine meal. We had had a big Sunday brunch so we just wanted a light dinner. Our waiter this time was laconic but Juan, the server we had had the first time we visited, recognized us and greeted us warmly, making up for the current waiter. There were other diners there, including a big group. Our service didn’t suffer. We ordered one green salad (M$80 and one Fettuccine with mariscos (M$160 . Both were very good and the clams in the fettuccine were the size Dimitri likes and he said they were tasty. The space still had not been decorated, it was noisy (with nothing to absorb the sound and there were too many dead flies all over (why didn’t the servers sweep them off the window sills? And why didn’t they have candles to discourage flies? Otherwise we liked the meal. Another time we went, we hosted 5 of us. Andrea was there and we had his attention. He brought us salads with sliced meat, a risotto, a fish and our favorite, zabaglione, for dessert. It was really fun but the food was just okay. We spent M$2435 plus tip."

"I found Los Burritos the first week I arrived in San Miguel. The first thing I realized was that everything was fresh made, from watching the tortillas roll off the presses to the consomme broths fresh flavor. The owners, the Baracas family, is often at the restaurant, checking on diners and making everything is in order. They have a phenomenal chicken and rice consomme, red and green mole, and nopales. They are one of the only restaurants in San Miguel with vegan options. They can serve anyone the real food of the Bajio quickly and with a smile. I completely recommend Los Burritos whether you passing through town or here for awhile."
