"Popped in for coffee and tea during heavy rain whilst shopping. Prices reasonable and well laid out, but waited minutes for just a tea and coffee to be delivered, too long really when the café was only half full. Menu looked good."

"We have eaten here for years as a family, it is our favorite place to go in coleford, they are a great family business. so welcoming, courtesy and offer great customer service. the food and drinks are fantastic, eating is amazing quality and our vater always says how they have the best coffee! price is also so affordable, highly recommended!"

"Great pub, dog friendly, plenty of outdoor seating with lovely forest views. We are not foresters, but locals. What I like about this pub, is that you are greeted like friends. Local, or tourist. It just has a nice vibe. Plenty of live music on Sunday afternoons, with brass bands playing Sunday evening. Rattler cider on draft is really good. Come here regularly."

"Each time I have been and its now quite a few, I haven't been disappointed. The fish is beautifully fresh, nice thick flakes of cod. All the flavours are good. Nothing is too much trouble and although the dishes come as a meal on a plate we have extra plates to enable us to share. The fish Pakoras as a starter are one of my favourites. My daugher has popadoms, not the usual tasteless things you buy in the supermarket, with the chutney tray and with them usually onion bagees, again fresh, not over spiced but a nice crisp outside and fluffy in the middle as they should be. for mains we usually have 3, this usually is made up of the Seafood thali, the house fish and the Garlic Bhuna with Cod. all of it comes with lovely fine rice and salad. In addition we have a side of Saag Aloo, has a good amount of spinach and chilli, not just potatoes. The drinks were 2 pints of cola, 3 bottles of Becks Blue and 2 x 1/2 cobra with a glass of chardonnay. Total cost £62 for the 3 of us and we were stuffed. No space for puddings. Good value. Will be visiting again soon. As this also has a fish and chip shop as part of it next door, they cater for kids such as pizza, sausage etc"

"What a fabulous friendly place Owners couldn’t do enough to help us with our requests fussy eaters etc The Sunday roast was delicious portion sizes for giants we left popping at the seams mainly because it was so yummy we just couldn’t stop when we were full the temptation to keep eating was unbearable Definitely worth popping in if your passing"

"Stopped here for a drink on the way home from Tewkesbury to Gloucester. Ended up having lunch because it smelled so good. It was gorgeous. Fish and chips was spectacular, ploughman's was even beyond that, and my year old autistic daughter thoroughly enjoyed her...plate of Nacho's. Not cheap cheap, but reasonable prices for what you get and the quality was brilliant. And even on a cloudy day you get a gorgeous view of the surrounding countryside. We will be back again."

"We are staying at Forest Holidays Forest of Dean. For our last night we decided to eat out. After looking at what restaurants were recommended by Forest Holidays we called up The Dog Muffler last minute to see if they had a tables. Fortunately they said they weren't too busy so we went straight away. We are so glad we tried there. The service and food were amazing! My husband said they were the best ribs he has ever had and my son said they were the best chicken nuggets he has ever had. My gammon steak was delicious and my daughter really enjoyed her sausage and chips. My favourite was the honey and cinnamon crème brûlée. High recommend! If we ever return for a holiday this way again we will be sure to visit again."
