"We were already late for lunch for the French hours and they attended us. The gentleman who attended us knew the basics of English so we could understand each other. Seeing that the cook was an older lady knew we were going to be happy about it because it was going to be real homemade food. We ordered a salad that had a fried egg, which we had not tried before, and it was very good (since we asked for salad in francia I lacked olive oil.) then we asked for a simple galette that was delicious. We were very happy.If we returned to fougeres, we would return to this place for a galette."

"Sitting outside with the chateau across the way, and a view of the cathedral up the hill was a great setting. The food, Magret de Canard, very nicely cooked and the mussels were wonderful. A great find."

"We were 9 and wanted to drink a shot on the terrace, enjoy the sun and the castle of ferns just in front but we were more than disappointed. the waitress, without a look at us, refused to serve us on the pretext that she was alone and that there were too many people. So we didn't insist because it was already quite amazing like that. It's 9 in less. It's not professional at all. I said there were 3-4 empty tables on the terrace that we could have gathered ourselves. very disappointing especially to finish such a beautiful day."

"A local bar owner has directed us to this place to dinner when we stopped in the morning to follow vin chaud. we were a little doubtful first when we saw the place in the morning (if he was closed), but decided to give it a try. in this night. there was only one table that was occupied when our group of 5 came to dinner. the service was very friendly. the galettes (savory crepes with various fillings) were all delicious. so were the sweet cripples. the apple wine we ordered was also excellent. overall we had an explosion in this small creamperie and would like to return."

"What a very pleasant discovery. Looking for somewhere for lunch we stumbled upon Le Bistro by chance and were pleased that we did. A small but very cute restaurant with a good choice on the menu including many pizzas. I ordered from the plat de...jour, the salad with lardons to start with was excellent followed by belly pork and chips and salad. Again, a very decent meal full of flavour and beautifully cooked. My wife went for the quatre fromages pizza and it was also very pleasant. Shame we were driving as the choice of wines and draft beers was excellent and would have enhanced an already very pleasant experience. We had arrived bang on 12.00 and were the first customers but when we left the place was full and our table had new customers waiting for it as soon as we got up to leave. Always a good sign!"
