"Timing is everything and if you hit it right the Alpine Lodge restaurant is great. Good food (particularly the Kalbsbratwurst and some of the finest chips anywhere) is married with a fabulous view over the frozen Trubsee.However, if your timing is a little off and it's a nice day there is a feeling in the air that approaches chaos and as you are something of a captive audience with few options, the experience wanes somewhat. It can be tough to get a seat and its pretty costly for self-service grub. But hey - It is Switzerland - just add a zero or two at the end."

"We liked the food at TRÜBSEE BAR LOUNGE (table service, near cable car stop), it was snowing outside, big windows, good food and reasonable prices for the location. They did not have Cheese Fondue though. There is another self serving (food court) style restaurant on higher floor, which looks like a fish market when there are many tourists. Not sure, if everyone would opt eating there."

"We stopped here for lunch as had driven the Susten pass and were on our way to the Grimsel pass which was just down the road.Our waiter was not able to speak much English but we could still place our order quite fine. They had an English version and would compare it to the possible German one...?I ordered steak with potatoes, cauliflower, beans and onions with half a Tomatoe. The spicy sauce that came with the steak was yummy!I come from South Africa and should know better than to order a steak in Switzerland plus when converting( 40 Euro) it was exorbitant!My partner had sausage and fries which were just okay too.They do provide free wifi which is great!The service was great but being where it's located I should not expect amazing food!"

"It was a nice experience to take food by self-service in a plate and then when you go to the cashier, he weighs your plate and charges you by weight. Very interesting experience. The indian food was delicious even in Switzerland."
