"After serious time in the cathedral on Montserrat, you need a break for at least coffee. There are a few cafeterias to use. I usually go to the main cafe. You get in line and get a tray, choose from a broad selection of broiled, baked, fried tasty foods. You can also choose ready made green salads or something else from a refrigerated case. There is food for vegans, vegetarians, meat-lovers etc. I had a broiled chicken plate with grilled peppers and potatoes. It was very ample, I couldn't finish it and so I asked a family member to help me finish. After this lunch I went to the coffee area and ordered a decaf coffee (coffee it is always espresso in Spain) with lactose free milk. It was delicious. For tea drinkers, select your tea flavor; my spouse had classic black tea which was strong and bracing. There were plenty of desserts to choose from including ice cream from an ice cream kiosk inside the cafeteria. We had no dessert this time but have previously eaten baked pastries along with coffee or tea. Children really like the ice cream. There are many people in the cafeteria who are recharging from just touring and being tourists or from pilgrimaging at Montserrat. The cafeteria allows a time to eat, think, look around at local and international travelers and pilgrims."
