"This once-bustling bar/restaurant really could do with a shot in the arm. The Auberge is one of very few restaurants in the area to open in the evening 7 days a week. However, as with most eateries in Montrejeau, it is busiest at lunchtimes - particularly on market day. The early evenings are quiet, with many lone diners enjoying the plat du jour rather than cook at home. Things tend to liven up much later on, particularly on long summer evenings and at weekends, when you'll often see large parties arrive to eat up to 10pm at night. The Auberge offers a really very good and comprehensive pizza menu from their wood-fired oven. Other menu items tend to be a bit hit and miss, though the plat du jour and the dessert menu are generally reliable. Unfortunately, the degree of enjoyment of a meal at the Auberge often comes down to the staff rota. Some servers are a joy, others appear disinterested and, on a slow night, have been known to start stacking chairs around the last diners before they have even finished their coffee.Last but by no means least, make sure you visit the toilet at home before going out. The toilets at the Auberge are grim."
