"Wow! Great bar, the cocktails were fantastic and bar tender very friendly and accomodating. The menu was absolutely delicious and wine paired perfectly. Highly recommend the tomahawk, honestly have not had a better steak. Beautiful room with a great vibe, especially because of the amazing staff. I’ll be heading back there soon, thank you Black Cockatoo!!"

"They couldn 't fit us in without a reservation during Targa High Country but were happy to serve us pizza and drinks at the bar on the other side of the restaurant where we could play pool and in fact had a better night than I suspect we would have in the restaurant. Good happy service and very flexible to think that way on such a busy out of season night for them. The pizza 's were all great, the one covered in chilli a highlight! Thanks guys."

"First time in this lovely cozy establishment, recommended by a friend. Delighted in delicious soft shell tacos (I could’ve had two serves and their local cocktail which to me tasted like a tall version of lychee martini just more refreshing and really yummy! Service was efficient and vibe was great. You can step in and out of the beginner’s run right outside the door"

"We had been to Kaptans several times in the past and again the restaurant did not disappoint. The service was very efficient, courteous and prompt, without being rushed or overbearing. We had the Pate and bratwurst as starters and all had the schnitzel for mains. The schnitzel is great, maybe a tad over priced, but this is a snow town.Diners need to be aware that you must order a minimum of two courses (entree and main or main and desert, which can add to the cost for the night out. We noted that the size of the glass of wine servings were generous, which made them quite reasonably priced."

"We were three nights in the mountains and ate here for two. they have a very good selection of choices on their menu. decor reminds me of Germany. the owner (or someone closes) is a skifan. I can see pictures of win and team shots under the snow. for our first night we have all their specialties the brot, the huge plate (it is for two, with verknochen, kransky, red cabbage, sour wort, bretzel etc.) salzburger nockerl (it is this stuffed dessert with chocolate and ice) we loved their kransky so much that we can ask in the second aftert dish as if we can order them. they were happy to behave. the cork tar and (I think) a...read more"

"First time visit to Mt Buller and the price tag to a lot of things is expensive, maybe because many of these businesses operate only operate during 3 months of the year of snowfall. Walk in and wait to be seated. There's quite a service element here compared to other places and it's quite good with wait staff checking in at various times through our meal. I'd met a couple at our hotel and bumped into them again in the village advising them there wasn't much opened post Queen's Birthday weekend so we decided to give ABOM a go. We'd ordered chips, foccacia, and olives as starters. That was a lot of food in itself. Tasty olives, the foccacia had a garlic and Parmesan twinge on the crust, the French fries and tomato sauce were nice and crunchy. It's a lovely venue. For mains I ordered the gnocchi with a creamy mushroom sauce. The gnocchi was good but not spongy, maybe a tad undercooked but the sauce was tasty, particularly with the hardness of the grated Parmesan."

"Worst parmigiana I've ever had, almost dislocated a finger trying to cut it. Surely had to have been reheated or made from an extremely buff chook, and definitely not worth $36! Other food we had was also disappointing, there is better available elsewhere on the mountain.The place is super bare, basically decorated like a modern nightclub. It's a bit of a shame since they could have leaned in to the apres ski culture and made the place much more inviting"
