"You must go. Never been before? There's lots of easy access to beautiful views you don't even have to leave your car before you're greeted by wild ponies. Been a few times but unsure? There's a wide range of walks and activities with forests, rivers, lakes, tors, valleys, pubs, clapper bridges. In the summer you can have a swim in the wild rivers, with the popular spots being close to the car and the less so spots being a short walk. You can scramble and climb on the famous Dartmoor rocks, camp under the stars (make sure to check the laws and areas you can camp on first! , and there's so many free places to park that you only have to walk a bit more from. The beauty alone is worth going. Seriously, you have so many possibilities with such a grand empty space, there's no reason not to."

"Fox tor caffe is a beautiful place to eat from a traditional English breakfast to paninis. everything is fresh and very tastefully cooked. they have a children's menu I couldn't find there, so I asked when I was there. the staff was very helpful and polite and very good for a group of 13 of us (book in advance). the only real problem I can think about, what can not really be helped or changed without great renovation is that the toilets outside in a separate block a short kiesweg that would be very easy for wheelchair users other, then that is a fab location to eat well worth visiting"

"On arrival the place gives the impression that it is more of a cafe than a pub with lodgings.Meals, choice of either pizza or a typical pub menu. We went for the pub menu with lamb shank and a reef and beef. The lamb shank was ok but paid 35 for reef N beef with 2 small prawns and a scallop on top and the order took a while to come out.We booked a room and found it to be a small but clean room with fresh sheets etc, but, there was no light in the bathroom tho 1 heatlamp worked, the TV had no antenna cable and the room had no existing smoke alarms, the walls are paper thin between rooms and there was the constant sound of what appeared to be hot water systems behind the wall. I would concider this place in the event that everywhere else was booked out."
