"Whenever we visit I can't quite believe that this restaurant is not packed out. I think it's a hidden gem of Walton. We have tried the branch in Esher and Walton comes out on top! Lovely staff and the food is always excellent. Whoever is in the kitchen is doing a wonderful job. Prices have increased here over the time it had been open however I still feel like we get good value for money overall. The restaurant itself is very comfortable and nicely decorated, if a little basic. Vegetarian options: All dishes can be made vegetarian. "I visited Sushi wakyo for the first time on Saturday night. The food was great, I love Japanese and hadn't found one since gone from London. I have read some good reviews online and was not disappointed. The restaurant was full, so had a good atmosphere and had the people come for takeaway that I think is a good sign. The black cod and mini volcano rollers were both delicious! The sushi plates served other tables also looked really tempting. I didn't love chicken teriyaki because it was quite dry, but that was the only food negative. It's a casual place, but had a few people dressed and a few younger diners with parents. The toilets were ice cold and need spruce, but not a big problem, and I will definitely come back!"

"First things first the place looks marvelous. Who wouldn't want a bit of a Winter Wonderland in the heart of Walton on Thames? The menu took some time to get through, more than plenty of choice, everyone at our table found something to their taste. The wine selection had our favorite Nuits St George a very welcomed surprise. The service was nice and easy; we were looked after by Dan, who is a joy to chat with. Staff had a proper knowledge of the menu and of all the allergens one of our guests had a severe allergy). The flavours were authentically Turkish! Not spiced down or adapted to a local food pallete. My starter prawns karifes was a cheesy goodness and the main fillet steak was perfect medium rare. Samolina sponge for my dessert was excellent too could've been more moist). Wonderful Christmas party in a lovely place. Will definitely be back. P.S. Missed a belly dancer as we arrived too early in the day, sadly : Will be back next Thursday!"

"Such a great location right by the river, we had lunch and sat inside next to a log fire as it was cold outside ! Had one of their sandwich specials, Buttermilk chicken sandwich with chunky fries and a soft drink, all for the special price of £9.50. The food arrived promptly and the sandwich was huge with a generous portion of chips, very enjoyable ! The staff were also very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back for more !! Thank you to The Anglers !"
