"We as a Reunion group visit this restaurant every year and saw from a previous reviewer it did not appear to warrant its usual 5 Stars, however undeterred we carried on as Normal. The other reviews could not be more wrong. Our Entire Group were made most welcome and immediately observed the entire premises had been given a Total facelift, new lighting, seating etc. All very tasteful, next our usual Alcohol appreciation society bit, yes all still great and they still stock Cobra. Going onto the Meals first impressions were the Choice had virtually Doubled, everything I tried was Top Notch and not a single negative comment from any of the Group, and believe me they know their curries. Nice choice of Sweets and Coffee if required to finish. All in all great Value, We all purchased the £29.99 Big Ticket which gave us all we wanted to eat and all we wanted to drink. The Proprietor Staff were always on hand to assist when required but never in your face like some Restaurants, I know most of you will understand that. will we Return, Most Definitely, quite a distance for some of us , but worth every penny."

"Name of Pub: The Captain James Lang Date Visited: 26-07-2021 08:00 Receipt Number: 45/4600 Bill Amount: 27.65 Feedback: When the meal I ordered arrived the egg was missing when I pointed it out to the server he asked me was I sure I ordered the large mixed grill it came back with one solid egg and still missing 2 onion rings when I pointed this out he said he would send it up again to the kitchen as the others we’re almost there meal I declined and asked for a refund was refunded the meal money but charged for a hot chocolate I would not have had if not waiting for my meal so I am now leaving your restaurant hungry and having to make my self something to eat when I get home this has been a really disappointing evening for me and both my family members Complained to duty manager nothing was done about it complained to Wetherspoon direct here is there answer..... "Her Sunday menu has absolutely no vegan options apart from suppe and beside meals. do you have to think that vegans don't eat on Sunday? Nevertheless, the manager was really good and helpful, gave us a feedback card and he really seemed to want to make the place better, but it is part of a chain so that who knows who is actually responsible for the menu."

"What can I say about the course business lunch at McMonagles Fish Resturaunt(The Boat) Chicken goujons second to none with tender chicken breast and crispy batter. Haggis in batter again cooked to high standard with crispy batter nothing greasy about these with salad perfect!...Steak pie was awesome, I have never had a pie anywhere else that is bursting with prime diced steak with a freshness of puff pastry lid on top. And yes dessert? Hot caramel shortbread cake with cream to end the feast as that is what it was, and all for under Take me home daddy I'm stuffed, and you wonder why I always come back here. Well done to all the staff who made me feel welcome A* Bernie."
