"We stayed for three nights at this superb resort, but most of our dining was from the Harvest kitchen in-room rather than in the dining room itself. Whatever we ordered, from turkey clubs to steak frites, we found everything to be first-rate. On the third night we dined in the restaurant proper. I had the Peri Peri half chicken (sizable) with mint jasmine rice, pickled veggies with a citrus yoghurt sauce. My partner had the shrimp scampi with giant trattole, in a garlic herb Chablis sauce. For a side we delighted in pan roasted Brussels sprouts magically prepared with maple butter and curried walnuts. We counted this as one of the most memorable meals in recent times. The chicken was roasted to a crispy paprika perfection and the meat was juicy and flavorful. The scampi with trattole was an unusual treat and simply scrumptious. For dessert we had a deep chocolate mousse coated with a chocolate glaze with a shortbread “moose” as a comic touch. Superb dining here really. Those diners who had unfortunate experiences couldn’t have been where we ate. Our server was bright, proactive, cheerful, and attentive. Perfect evening! "I wish I could give them negative stars!! My husband called to make a reservation for dinner for our anniversary. He told Joanne the owner that it was our anniversary and that we wanted to be seated in the dining room and NOT the pub. We even wentwith a later time so that they could accommodate dinner in the dining room. She never, ever mentioned a wedding going on thatnight. My husband confirmed with her 3 times that we would be in the dining room. When we got there the hostess went to seatus in the pub. She told us there was a wedding going on in the dining room and that there was no availability in that room. Joanne even came out and said oh NO we have a wedding going on . She acted like she had never told my husband we would be inthe dining room (to celebrate our anniversary). We left very upset. We were LIED to!!! At this point it was 7:30pm so wecouldn 't make any other arrangements. There isn 't much to choose from as it is in the north country and we couldn 't makeanother reservation on that type of notice! THANKS FOR RUINING OUR ANNIVERSARY JOANNE!!! We 'll make sure to share our story. I 've heard this isn 't the first time this had happened at your establishment!!!"
