"I attended a farewell lunch in the dining room of the hotel on Thursday, April 17, 2014. There were several things that contributed to this particular rating. Since we were a large group of about 14 or so, we booked a table in advance. When we arrived, we were placed at two different tables situated so that the two groups could not easily talk to each other. When we requested that we be seated together, we were told we had been arranged this way so that it would be easier to serve us. I'm an analyst, and I could easily see that our request could have been quickly accommodated without a problem, but we let it go when it became clear they were NOT going to arrange the two tables to be together. The next thing that irked me was that the 14.99$ supposedly award-winning seafood chowder I ordered arrived in a pitiful state. There was about 8 oz of acidic tomato broth with a total of three pieces of seafood in it, one small scallop, one clam, and one prawn. I stared at it for a while wondering if I had mistakenly ordered the appetizer size, but my colleague, who had ordered the same, and who received even less of the broth (same number of pieces of seafood) was just as perplexed. We ate our broth but were not impressed with the quality, or the quantity. When the bill came, I was struck again by the poor quality to price ratio, as with gratuity and tax built in, the unsatisfying cup of soup cost me 17$. Since I ate it, I was willing to pay for it, but I made sure to at least let the waiter know that I was not pleased. The only thing he did was acknowledge my displeasure (and that of my colleague) and offer to get the chef, which he did. I repeated my summary to the chef, who said he would mention my concern to the executive chef. That's it. In another restaurant they might have knocked a few dollars off or offered a gift card for you to come back and try something different. But this experience told me that my patronage was not valued. I will not be going back. Since our office is just across the street and we have over 100 staff members, it might have been better for them to have been more accommodating. I'm sure it is a lovely hotel, but I will certainly never eat there again."
