"Hospental: placed in a really outstanding Environment, on Swiss Alps. It's really an intense immersion in Nature and Landscape, and it's nice to be caught into a place where sight is literally lost in beauty.This agreeable Restaurant is located just outside the town, at the beginning of the road to Furkapass. It arises in a sort of small village: just a tiny amount of houses, but suggestive and particular.We came there during a rainy day. When we arrived there, rain was quite intense. But Mountain is suggestive with rain too: it's another kind of suggestion, but it's suggestion.We arrived there at 2:40 p.m And, in this, you may enjoy the Spirit of the World beyond the Alps: one may eat whenever he wishes, whenever he's hungry, and not only inside a selectedtime range, at least in the afternoon. When we came, other people were eating,. and we were welcome.My friend, a woman from Lugano, carried, with her, a quite big and sweet dog, a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Labrador. She soddenly asked if dogs were allowed. The owner, out of an open smile, answered affirmatively.For the whole time we stayed there, she was full of attentions for dog, carrying dog biscuits and a bowl of water. That's so nice to see this attitude and behavior towards animals. It's the mirror of behavior towards men! So, we argued we were welcome, and we might get inside.The place is in a typical Mountain Style: warm, welcoming, with plenty of wood around. We sat before a table, and the menu was posed in our hands.The menu, available in Italian Language too, displayed a wide set of Typical dishes, of Mountain Tradition: steaks, roasts, and a wide set of Rösti, a typical German Switzerland dish, made with potatoes, differently shaped. I opted for a Day Manu, with a typical Salad and a not well identified dish. But, for what I might understand fro menu, I was quite attracted by it. My friend, instead, decided for a Rösti, and exactly for a "Säumer Rösti." But she opted for a Salad too, because, she said, Salad Sauces in German Switzerland are really tasteful!.To drink, I dedided for Rivella, a typical Swiss Drink, made with Milk Serum, My friend, instead, for a mineral water and a glass of red wine. My friend was right about sauces! After a short and agreeable waiting time, we received our salad. Really tasty, and sauce was really remarkable! And, after salad, it was the time of main courses. My dish fulfilled any expectation. It was composed with some slice of swine roast, a brown and tasty sauce, a sort of potato croquette with cheese, and some vegetables. My friend's Rösti was, first of all, nice to see: abundant, goodlooking, literally covered with melted cheese. Remarkable!It was so abundant that my friend was unable to finish her dish, and decided to put what she was unable to eat inside a small bag, to be tasted that evening or the day after. I finished my dish, but I understood why, here, people speak about "Complete Dishes": they're really so!We decided to stop, and to ask for the bill.It arrived shortly. The amount was not high, remembering we are in Switzerland, and the change rate with Euro is not so favorable. So, my menu was 25,50 francs (about 19,32 euros,) my half a liter Rivella was 4,90 francs (about 4 euros.) For my menu I spent 30,40 francs (about 25 euros.) For my friend's menu: a Rösti at 18,50 francs (about 15,21 euros,) a salad at 6,50 francs (about 5,35 euros,) a mineral water at 3.90 (3,21 euros) and a glass of red wine at 3,60 (2,95 euros.) The total amount was 60,90 francs, about 50,1 euros, an average of 25 euros for each. Considering where we are, the not good exchange rate, and the quality of food and the dimensions of our portions, it's a good price. In the meantime sun arose from clouds. And, when we went out, we could enjoy an agreeable sun. Enlightening this really outstanding place.We said good bye to the smiley and kind owner. And, I think, it will be a good bye, because I think it's a place to remind, crossing the places around Gotthard. A welcoming place, with a kind and smiley owner, where dogs are welcome, and, I could perceive, beloved. In a really wonderful environment. All is made up to suggest a stop in this place. I think you'll enjoy resting and swelling here for awhile!"
