"As ever we revisited Salvatore being again in Bernkastel. Firstly the restaurant has moved to the ground floor area in Hotel Binz. It is more spacious, with great furniture and fittings, plus much lighter than the previous location by the Market Square Fountain but has...lost the character that came with the older building and location. However we got a great welcome from the man himself and the newer staff did a great job. Being the same chef, the food was as great as ever. When we chose the wine, Salvatore recommended a new wine he'd got in from Sardinia at the same price as his usual Barbaresco, he said the wine producer had improved and the wine did not disappoint it was delicious. He's also expanding as he should have opened the old Ratskeller Restaurant in the market square this weekend, all the best for this new venture and we'll be sure to visit it next time we're in Bernkastel."

"Heb here een fantastic lekkere pannenkoek met zalm en champignons gegeten; op het bord lay eveneens een lekker fris slaatje en dit voor maar 9.90 eur. het is een uiterst proper restaurant zowel aan de buitenzijde! vriendelijke bediening ook en de hond was heel welkom (kreeg zelfs een koekje) en he stond naast de deur een heel propereenbak klaar met voldoende vers water!"

"My cousin who lives in Traben Trarbach recommended this place. We all walked here after hiking the Moselsteig. We were very tired and got to sit in the garden terrace. I had the best Salatteller Ziegen ever. Everyone loved what they ordered and it was so comfy and cozy out of the terrace and then it, started to pour. The staff helped us move under the awning better and were very attentive. The prices are fair and the servers are friendly. We all had a great time. We had a chance to go inside and the inside is as lovely as the outside is pretty. Great Restaurant."

"We were staying at the Hotel Burgblick during our first visit to Bernkastel-Kues, and this restaurant is part of their hotel do we decided to give it a go based on the reviews here. We are so glad we did. This was our best evening meal of our entire stay.Friendly service and great food & wines.I had the stewed ox cheek with Gräwes and salad, while my wife had the Goat Cheese Salad. Both were outstanding. My ox just fell apart, it was so tender!We both had the pannacotta for dessert, which was again excellent.We also had a bottle of wine and a glass of champagne.It's quite a small restaurant but if the weather is nice enough you can sit out on their terrace.The kitchen is semi open, always a good sign - nothing to hide!Highly recommended to visit this great restaurant!"

"Based at the Marchenhotel, this is a lovely restaurant. The weather was good when we visited and to sit outside was nice (although there were gnats to deal with). Because we were at the hotel on half board, we did not get to try the full menu (although because I cannot eat fish/seafood we got to thry items from off the basic menu). Really very innteresting food on offer, I would say quite different from the menus that I have seen in Berlin, Nurermberg or Munich i.e. the local sourcing comes through. The food is very rich and we found very filling. I was not sure as to the ipad based wine list. It was a bit clunky to use. This is the only negative. The restaurant is situated in a lovely location at the top of the town. Sitting outside you will be able to see the vineyards coming down to the town level but you are not unduly disturbed by other passing tourists."

"I had a first tonight, it is the first time in any proper sit down restaurant that I have been to anywhere in the world that does not have a dessert menu! This is the land of the Apfel strudel and they can't even do that or provide some ice cream? And they don't take credit cards, cash only, but most places here do not take cards. Other than that our only course was very good and the young lady was very friendly and chatty and the service was excellent and what we had was good value. We went to Da Marco for pudding and more wine!"
