"This was a weird one, I went the York on a sunny Saturday for lunch and enjoyed a pleasant counter type meal overlooking the main street from their balcony. It was such a great experience I took my wife to dinner at the in-house restaurant 259 the following Thursday night. What a difference.Pros:- Great balcony dinning for lunches.- Well priced bar food and a fun setting.Cons- Restaurant 259 was a cold and unwelcoming room in the back of the pub.- There was a single waiter on for dinner that was unsure of the food she was serving and kept complaining about the cold.- The food was good but the orders were mixed.- Gravy was missing from the main dish even after the waiter asked what type was required twice."

"This restaurant is located in Flanagans Hotel and you can either eat in the restaurant or, if prefer, in the beer garden or bar.Value here is unbelievable! We sat out in the beer garden at a table with benches on a perfect night. The garden has beautiful roses that you can smell while sitting at your table and fairy lights are spread right across the overhead timbers adding to the atmosphere.The Bar person is a lovely Irish girl who is extremely efficient and pleasant.The menu isn't huge but offers plenty of choices. My wife decided on the roast chicken which was the Chef's Spec ial and came with stuffing and roast vegetables. I had to complain that I wasn't sure I could afford it but she convinced me that the price of $10 was a bargain!! It certainly was. Personally I couldn't go past the Grilled Red Emperor with chips and salad. Along came two large pieces of fish, a heap of chips and a bowl of salad. The fish had been grilled slightly too long but was still very nice and for $16 who could complain?Washing all the above down with a couple of pints and a few glasses of wine made it a very pleasant evening."
