"This is a very nice vegetarian joint this review is from the perspective of a vegan looking for an outlet for their preferred diet in East Sussex. We decided to visit this place as it is listed as a vegan friendly on HappyCow, which can apply for the shop part of this place, but I don't think it's particularly accurate about the café part. The menus on the tables did not contain vegan options, and when I asked the waitress what options there were, she showed me to the front of the shop where there are some food in the glass display. The food was clearly marked, usually not vegan. Nevertheless, there was a pasty I could have, so I ordered one of them to find some salad with it. The waitress said the pasty came with salad anyway. When my order arrived, some of the salad was coated with him in Mayonnaise and some had feta in it, despite the fact that I think I made it very clear that I wanted only vegan food. This is the kind of supervision that I would expect with the majority of restaurants, but I had hoped for a more relaxed visit where I could eat vegan food without having to buy when they order. I also thought it was quite overpriced. On the positive side, the place itself is beautiful, and I would recommend the place for vegetarians. The shop itself has a wide choice for vegetarians and vegans alike."
