"SO disappointed! I should have read the reviews BEFORE we ordered. We were dying for Korean BBQ. (delivery was FAST though! APP: Asian Wings FOR $7.95 Deep-fried chicken sauteed in sweet and spicy sauce. Basically DRIED OUT ckn drum with tasty sauce though. DINNER 1 Korean Steak- DRY DRY DRY and absolutely NO FLAVOR, and I am not exaggerating! DRY RICE and DRY SALAD. The lettuce was great, but they didn’t serve it with anything! No salad dressing? Really? OMG, I thought I was being punked. DINNER 2 Asparagus Beef. NO SAUCE, It looked like we could use it as a dart. Dried out beef, wrapped over over-cooked asparagus and again, NO SAUCE! The salad that came with it was good, lettuce and some house dressing. We didn’t eat, we threw it out. My daughter spit out the beef. She is 4.5 hasn’t had enough time to be critical, so take it from her at least! I do not like to write bad reviews, in fact I usually give places a chance and form my own opinion. From now on, I will read reviews here and on Yelp. I can’t afford to go out all the time and make mistakes like this. These restaurants need to read reviews and make some changes! Watch Kitchen Nightmares! Sorry will never order from here again. Too bad, their menu sounds so inviting. But like one reviewer wrote, specialize in one or the other. You can’t have a huge menu, one side sushi, the other Korean BBQ. Ask Gordon Ramsey! Hope this is helpful!"

"First thing sushi chef Steve said to us when we sat down at the sushi bar was YOU KNOW HOW I KNOW YOU 'RE NEW?! Bc your looking at the menu . Lol, we told him we were looking at the drink menu. He continues to say Ya Ya look at the drink menu but talk to me you 'll have a way better experience I swear . Bc he seemed confident we allowed him to choose. The sushi he suggested was mediocre and horrible so we left after only ordering 2 items he suggested; butterfish, hand roll. The original order was for butterfish nigiri but Steve insisted that we would have a better experience if he ordered for us bc he 's been a sushi chef since he was 15 and now he 's in his 40s. The butterfish was horrible came out super salty and rubbery. Some parts was too cold almost frozen. The piece of fish was literally cooked from frozen. We originally wanted escolar/ butterfish nigiri but got a salty rubbery frozen in the center piece of fish with sauce topped with green onion.The hand roll. After originally ordering 2 ikura gunkan with quail egg on the top. Steve insisted Do you want something better? Talk to me. I 'll take care of you . Since the hand roll wasn 't bad I can 't say too much about it except him giving us only 1. We ordered 2 piece sushi but got a hand roll to split instead. After the butterfish we got the check and left. Maybe it was off nite. But we didn 't want to stay and continue allowing him to serve us. It was such a disappointment. After 1 1/2 hr of being there in total we had 3 beers, 1 sake junmai, edamame, 1 butterfish and 1 hand roll. The service wasn 't great either but I understand that a lot of restaurants are understaffed. The food was disappointing."

"Kobe, located right next to Lucky's, is a large Japanese restaurant that offers delicious Japanese courses and a variety of sushi rolls. The food is the best Japanese food you can find in San Mateo and the staff is all very friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this place as it has become one of my favorite new restaurants."

"This is my favorite place to eat. My favorite is the Alaskan roll. They just started making a baked salmon roll that is mouth watering. They have the best spicy tuna roll, I usually order two of those. The salmon nigiri is always a knock-out. This place is great!"
