"Popped in today without a reservation, been meaning to visit for a long time as its right by Montendre Lac. The proprietor (I think) was very friendly & happy for us to bring our small dog as well. The menu du jour was €13 for 3 courses with a lovely buffet starter, 3 choices for main & the choice of about 6 deserts. The quality of the food was excellent, the service also very good. The buffet included cold meats, salads, pate & various other dishes., the mains were Coq au vin, blanquette du thin & a veal dish all served with either frites de Madison, potatoes or a risotto. I had figs with honey & cream for desert & my wife had a salted caramel crime brûlée. All were excellent. With 50cl of wine & coffee our bill was a very reasonable €34. As I said to the proprietor/chef as we left, we shall certainly go back."
