"I like Indian food, and had a hankering for some so rang and booked a table instead of just rocking up as I usually do. Lucky I did, as otherwise there'd be no Indian dinner. It seems this is a very, very popular local on a Saturday evening. The place was packed!Staff were friendly and efficient and we were seated in minutes, table water served and menus provided. Orders were taken efficiently and the food arrived promptly. As there was only teen boy and me, we ordered chicken tikka and chose a combo curry plate for variety, and added sides of another naan and pappadams. The combo provided tasting portions of chicken tikka, butter chicken, a beef korma and a vegetable korma, and came with basmati rice and a naan. The chicken tikka was good - fragrant, juicy and with nicely jarred bits. There was no accompanying mint yoghurt dip. We didn't bother to ask.The curries were okay with tasty sauces that were not a bit greasy. The lack of grease did make me wonder if the sauces were mass produced. The beef korma had beautifully tender chunks of lean beef, many in precisely cut cubes - a dead giveaway that the beef was cubed while frozen (not a criticism, just saying). The chicken in the butter chicken had charred bits, proof that the restaurant started with dish with chicken cooked in the tandoor - a step that some restaurants skip. The vegetable korma was tasty but had a frozen vegetable feel to it. I wonder if a mix of frozen and fresh vegetables were used. The naans were light and fluffy with bright yellow "painted" on them - I suppose this was the garlic, though it was not very garlicky.Overall, teen was happy and would visit again. Me? It's fine for a local Indian quick dinner or take-out, but the food quality is not what I'd term occasion dining."
