"Food for the soul I tried this place out for the first time a couple of days ago thinking I'd just try one thing off the menu and leave. I ended up staying for almost two hours tried a starter, entree, and a dessert. I was so impressed with the food here, and thoroughly enjoyed the ambiance. I only wish I had brought a book along. It was such a wonderful experience, and the food far surpassed my expectations. Amazing flavours, textures, and perfect portion sizes. Bravo! Cannot wait to return!"

"Just had dinner at Shandi's with a couple of friends. It was GREAT! The curries tasted fresh and fabulous. Definitely could tell they were made from scratch with quality spices. The Chai Tea was good and hot - just the way I like it. The onion pakoras were nice way to start off for my friend who had never tried Indian food. Loved the casual seating on long tables. The staff were very nice. We highly recommend Shandi's for a quick meal that is tasty and is way better for you than fast food burger joints."

"We often walk by this unassuming eating establishment. It is actually two eateries in one space one being Al Basha. The other looks to be a sandwhich/samosa place. Both have very good prices and we will stop in to try the sandwiches next time....However, this time we were in the mood for falafel and were we ever surprised. The chef (owner said that they make fresh falafel as they are ordered, which sounded great, but the taste is amazing. There is a spice I haven't had in other falafels, and the vegetables are just as fresh and tasty. Then there is the price for quality, service and price, Al Basha is hard, if not impossible, to beat. Best tasting falafel in Vancouver, and a falafel wrap at makes it the best deal in town. We'll be back for sure. Highly recommended"
