"Yes, I was suspicious as well, but my friends on the island recommended it and they are locals: they can be trusted right? As soon as I walked in it was a olfactory war zone: cumin, cardamom, saffron and Marsala attacked my nose and I took it all in. They opened later, at 7, but were open for drinks at 6. After wrestling with two Ginger kisses: vodka, grenadine, ginger beer and mint, I sat down for dinner. Curry choices tonight were black bean curry or chickpea Marsala. I’m a fan of chickpeas so I went with the latter. For an appetizer, I was dying to know what the island cones were, but sadly the ingredients weren’t available. I was swayed into the sweet roasted potatoes with fragrant mayo and locally farmed cheese. Stupidly, I asked for easy on the mayo as it can be overpowering. I was wrong. The aromatic mayo was infused with pesto and herbs and I had to get more. I actually caught another customer licking his fingers, scooping out the remnants of his portion. Out came the masterpiece that was my dinner. Crunchy stuffed samosa with potato and chickpea, crispy naan brushed lightly with chunky garlic butter, fragrant rice and the leader of the dish, the Marsala curry. I was in love. Before I knew it, dinner was done, my plate was cleaned, and the next olfactory assault began: the entire restaurant became a playground for the sweet scent of roasted almonds and chocolate cake. I ordered a slice, piping hot and succulent, powered with crusty roasted almonds. It didn’t take long to disappear, no matter how small I made my bites. An ABSOLUTE repeat offender. They cater to vegetarian dishes but don’t be offset by that: even the hungriest carnivore will find solace in their veggie burger! Just eat here!"
