"First off, I'm stunned this place even accepted the reservation since they were closed. Yep. That's right. We showed up to the address and went inside only to find that Mortar Pestle was a bar in the back of a fast food Indian place called Curry Up. So instead of a nice, quiet evening drinking cocktails, we sat at the Indian equivalent of McDonalds eating sub-par curry and drinking water. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. If you like Indian street food, this may be the place for you. But if you're expecting a dining experience with cocktails, steer clear."

"This place was delicious. Amazing spices and flavors. We got the beef sambusas (like samosas), chicken skoor with rice and chappatti (like a basic butter naan). It all came with an amazing jalapeño creamy sauce. I’d highly recommend all of it. The reason for the four stars is it took more than 25 minutes for our food (when there weren’t any people in the restaurant) and they were out of a few things we wanted to try. But it was worth it and we will be back."

"One of the besttt momo I have ever tasted !!!!!!!!! The most authentic taste I can get here in Salt Lake city.I highly recommend to try the jhol momo and the pork chilli was out of this world.Really friendly and welcoming the owner itself helps with all the guidance and help in the kitchen.The place was supper clean bright and fresh. And the staffs were so friendly.One of the best service I have got and perfect price"

"This place is so special. If Brigham and friends had eaten here, would they have explained that? This is the place? At the beginning, the employees are warm and welcoming, and this is a real family business that radiates a lot of love. Then there's the food. From butter chicken, to coconut corma, the food is buttery, supple and packed with taste. You are one of the few restaurants that still offers a buffet of Wed-Sa, so please check out this place so that we can continue to encourage small minority companies to live in our community!"
