"We were looking for a place to have lunch after walking around the Zócalo & saw this cute, charming hotel restaurant with a nice menu several blocks away & decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint. We started off with two tasty sangrias & the mushroom queso fundido served with tortillas. The sangrias hit the spot. The fundido was wonderful melted Oaxacan cheese with mushrooms, onions & a bit of cilantro. We shared the (Almendado) Almond based light mole sauce with chicken thigh & rice & Enchilada Verdes with green sauce & chicken (4 corn tortillas folded once & stuffed with shredded chicken & topped with tangy green tomatillo sauce, sliced red onion & crumbled cheese). Both dishes were excellent & both sauces were very tasty. The chicken thigh for the mole was cooked perfectly. The service by Miguel was excellent. The ambiance is warm & inviting with the front room overlooking the street & another courtyard setting with birds singing in cages & plants lining the perimeter. We were only one of 3 tables in the restaurant for lunch & don't understand why. A truly memorable lunch experience in Beautiful Oaxaca!"
