"One of many restaurants with outside seating in a pedestrianized street just opposite the cathedral, the menu is primarily Italian as the name suggests and there were a number of pizza and pasta dishes on the menu. Service on the whole was friendly enough, although there were a few niggles; the waitress who served our food just plonked them down in front of us without saying anything for example, and my wife’s plate and even the parmesan they had left on the table were cleared away whilst I was still eating. After that they seemed to forget about us, and so we didn’t get the opportunity to sample any desert.We started with some garlic bread pizza style, which I assumed would be a pizza shape piece of dough as is usually the case, but this was a sausage shaped piece of plain dough served with a small bowl of runny green liquid which had some chopped garlic in it. Not really what I had anticipated, and not worth the €3.50 charged. This was followed by some penne with boar meatballs and this was a tasty dish in a rich, if rather runny, sauce. If I’m being critical I’d say it could have done with a bit more meat and less pasta, but it was decent enough. Across the table, stuffed ravioli with parma ham, sage, ricotta and olives was again tasty enough but a little too creamy.The waiter who brought our bill told us that he had “forgotten” to add the 10% service charge. I probably wouldn’t have thought anything of this, as many restaurants in the UK do add a service charge, but for the fact that I heard him telling the next table the same thing. Whether he was scamming the customers or the owners I’m not sure, but he was clearly hoping for a decent tip. As it happened we saw another waitress and paid by card, where I had the more usual option of selecting if I wanted to leave a gratuity. Clearly not something that would be asked if it had already been added to the bill."
