"We regularly go biking with our little boy. We park outside Clumber then cycle in and around the park then stop at the cafe for a treat before heading home. It’s fine for our needs but I wouldn’t make a trip out to go there...especially. It’s very busy and the tables outside are often all taken but as we have our bikes we sit on the grass or a bench further up from the cafe. The cakes and scones can be a little dry, the staff are generally friendly but don’t go out their way to make your visit nice. The icecreams are yummy and it’s clean inside to say how busy it gets. Overall, I’d say it’s fine for a coffee and (somewhat dry) cake if your out walking or biking (which is amazing, the scenery is beautiful and the off road trails are great for little ones) but I wouldn’t go there for anything more than that. Also, as a National Trust I am shocked by how much one use plastic they have. Plastic spoons in the icecreams and plastic glasses. The bottles are however glass but if you don’t want to drink out of a bottle then the only option is generally a single use cup. You would think a National Trust would be leading the way in reducing plastic waste."

"Adam made our afternoon tea extra special. The food was great, with a well thought out menu and Adam catered fantastically for a gluten free group member. A vintage theme ran throughout the afternoon tea, with specially chosen linen used, in keeping with a 1950's theme. The assorted open sandwiches had a variety of traditional and contemporary fillings and accompaniments, each flavour well thought out. The sweet selection was fantastic. Freshly baked scones, served with clotted cream and jam, biscuits, lemon drizzle cake, gluten free brownies; all perfectly baked. The selection of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and prosecco meant everyone was well catered for. Thanks Adam for all the effort you and your team put in to the afternoon. It was greatly appreciated. Xx"

"We had a great time at the cabaret night. The night was flawless. The hosting was fantastic, decorations were amazing, the entertainment was outstanding. A two course meal and entertainment for each was excellent value. Loved it will be back."

"A small facility that packed a large stamp with its eating, the menu offers for each of cooked hot lunches to sandwiches salad. I had a hunter chicken cob that had a wow factor, it had a lot of filling inside lubricated...lovely the caffe makes special bistro nights on Friday Saturday, the tracey explained how the dynamics convert the caffe over I definitely try in the future."

"Since the Broomwagon closed Retford needed a decent cycling cafe and this place is perfect. It’s a bit cosy when there’s a few of us but there’s also room to sit outside. The main thing is the food...great. The service...friendly. And the price...good value. Breakfast...butties are spot on. Cakes are always good. Coffee is as good as anywhere else. Plenty of room for the bikes too a TV to keep up to date with what’s going on. Great place."

"Hard poached eggs, dried out sausages, tired mushrooms, luke-warm beans....only toast was good...oh and the tea I made myself. Awful and not what you normally get from a Morrisons Cafe. Avoid."
