"Lovely cosy atmosphere with mix of families, couples cyclists/take out. Great choice of savoury food and amazing cakes. Well priced with friendly service. Is an upstairs seating area too. Now we've found it we will be using on a regular basis! You can also pick up some local crafts too!"

"Stayed here after a trip to Beamish. Wanted to stay somewhere a little unique and this charming place met the bill. A small number of rooms in a building next to a pub. The rooms are not modern but I liked it. Plenty of space...and clean. Had to pre book a time and food for breakfast. The evening we ate and the pub which was lovely. Good choice of food and it was very tasty. I would highly recommend the potato skin starter and the stick toffee pudding. Breakfast was a full english."

"This was a list minute trip as we travelled through Durham but we would definitely make the trip especially to come here. The place is beautiful, with fairy lights and a lovely log burner too. We ordered at the counter and the food was brought to us by very friendly staff who were attentive. The food was gorgeous too I had a prawn mayonnaise sandwich with a very generous helping of prawns. Could not rate this place more, would definitely recommend."

"They always enjoy going here when they visit my daughter. there is such a wonderful series of homemade cakes that are absolutely amazing. they care about my daughter who has zöliakie, so can not eat gluten or the best, in contrast to most places they have several different cakes, also scene they can have, as well as brot etc. for the main meal. the beautiful owner is so welcoming friendly, happy and always finds time for a small chat. our dog is even treated with a sausage. I highly recommend them."
